If you specifically are looking for a Christian weight loss program, you have landed on the right page. Everything that I teach on this site is compatible with my Christian faith. The key thing to remember is that God made you and wants the best for you. I want to help you let your faith be the most important support leg in your support structure as you embark on this new journey. Let's continue this discussion below.
The simple answer to this question is that there is only one difference between a "regular" weight loss program and a Christian weight loss program. But, it is a BIG difference. You see, achieving your weight loss goals by making a permanent lifestyle change requires the same steps no matter who undertakes it. On my home page I describe the very introductory steps that you will need to take to accomplish what you set out to do. There is, for a Christian, one additional step that needs to be taken. God gave you this body and, in my mind, we owe it to Him to take as good care of that body as He takes of our soul. So, before you start, I want you to go to the place where you like to pray and place this journey at His feet. Ask for the strength, wisdom and courage to do this. Tell God why you want to do this. He wants to be your partner in this process, as do I. I promise you that He will not leave you alone in this.
We were not designed to be alone in this life. We have a natural need to be in community with others; through good times and bad. There will be difficult times and times of great joy and accomplishment as you follow this program. Share these with your friends and definitely with God. In so sharing, you will realize that what Jesus told us is true: Where two or more are gathered in My name I am with them (Matthew 18:20). Having that extra cohesiveness will make a huge difference on various days when you need it most.
This is one of my two personal life verses. John 16:33 is my other one. While Philippians 4:13 may be one of the most misused verses in scripture, it is appropriate in this case. It tells us that, no matter what we encounter in life, Jesus is enough because he will provide us what we need. It may not be a million dollars, but He will give us enough.
In closing this page, sometimes having extra resources helps create a better perspective on things that we face in life. Here is a link to the Christian Books website as it relates to weight loss His way.
May your journey to a New Leaner You be blessed.
